About us
Charl International was established in 2002, inspired by my own experiences coming from a developing nation and witnessing the surplus and waste in Australia that could greatly benefit communities in Africa.
We are a social organisation dedicated to repurposing used clothing and shoes that might otherwise contribute to landfill, turning potential waste into valuable resources for developing nations.
Our mission
Empowering Communities Through Clothing Redistribution
Our mission is rooted in sustainability and support for non-profit organisations. By purchasing used garments, we not only reduce environmental impacts of the clothing industry, but also generate funds for local charities that support essential community programs. These initiatives include creating employment opportunities, implementing food programs, and providing medical care.

Our global operations
A global journey of compassion and sustainability
At Charl International, our mission to transform excess clothing into opportunities spans continents, beginning right here in Perth, Australia. Our headquarters not only serves as the nerve center for our operations but is also home to our primary sorting and export facility. Here, donated garments are meticulously sorted to determine their best use — either sent abroad to support communities in need or processed locally at our rag cutting facility, which supplies materials for local markets.
This comprehensive approach ensures that every item is utilized to its fullest potential, reducing waste and supporting sustainability.
